Ratchet & Clank (2016) How to level weapons fast! Method 1

There are a few methods for leveling your weapons quickly but the method varies on what you’re leveling and where you are in the game. Some of the problems with the method I am about to share is the difficulty, it’s far into the story, and the area is not repeatable. So make sure you are really done before you progress! Alright now that the disclaimer is done let’s get on with the guide!

Preparation!

The preparation in this guide is pretty light. You really only need to have the area unlocked, Deplanetizer and make sure it’s your first time visiting otherwise you can’t reach the farming zone. Now play normally until you get to the part with the 3 tanks, there is only one area with tanks. So if you see any tank you are already there. That’s all you need if you are only doing this for weapon leveling, continue onto the next section.

If you want to farm Raritanium and Weapon Levels then make sure you have a Level 4 (at least) Pyrocitor or a maxed Sheepinator with all the Raritanium drop rate upgrades (See Picture Above). That give you a 80% increased drop rate of Raritanium with the Sheepinator (Goatinator) and 48% on Pyrocitor (Lavacitor). If you don’t have them leveled just follow along with the guide, and the part for Raritanium do normally even if you don’t have the upgrades (to level the guns).

How To Level Weapons Quickly

Ok, so you got your weapons, and you’re in the right spot. Use the Gadgetron Vendor in front of you to fill up on ammo. Then step on the hexagon platform to the right of it and ride it down. With the weapon you want to level, let’s say for the sake of reference the Doom Blades, kill the Blarg foot soldiers in front of you.

Kill the first tank, now keep in mind weapons level based off of damage dealt or how much HP they take off the enemies. So if you can’t kill the tank it’s fine, just try your best. If you die it’s no big deal you’ll respawn in the Gadgetron Vendor room and the enemies you did kill gave you enough bolts to cover ammo cost. Just get back down the same way as last time and continue your rampage.

(If you have trouble understanding my instructions without a visual aid then follow along with this video!)

If you successfully kill the first tank, a garage door will open on the left side of the room. Enemies will pour out of it, this is your chance to farm some Raritanium while farming levels. Kill these weak mobs with your Sheepinator (Ideally) or your Pyrocitor, if you have the drop rate increases on their weapon grid then you should get a few shards. If you don’t have the upgrade continue killing them with these weapons. The Pyrocitor is really weak and hard to fight the tanks with to level it. Also the Sheepinator doesn’t make tanks or dropship turn into sheep.

After you kill this mob another tank will spawn, attack it immediately. During the time it spawns it will try to roll out of the garage, and during this point it won’t shoot at you until it is fully out. So now is a good chance to kill it or at the least damage it greatly. When done further in the room is two Warbots, jump up to them and let them kill you.

Why let them kill you? So you respawn in the previous room with the vendor and the enemies respawn. Plus if he kills you he gets a pay increase so that he can afford to feed his starving Robo Fam. Also if you kill these Warbots and move onto the next tank you run the risk of killing the mobs that spawn with this new tank. If you do that you have nothing to kill you and are forced to progress. If you progress you can’t get back here.

That’s it, rinse and repeat to your heart’s content. As a bonus though I’ll break down each weapon so you know which weapons are effective at this method.

Weapon Effectiveness Vs. This Method

Five out of five is the best, and one means that it doesn’t work at all. Weapons are sorted via Alphabetical order and not on any other factor.

Bouncer– 3/5 This weapon is alright for taking out large groups but it isn’t great for this kind of leveling because of its limited ammo. At base it only carries six bombs. It does do a large amount of damage though, so it may not be the best but you can shoot a magazine a run and switch to something more effective.

Combuster- 4/5 Perfect, but lacking in fire rate, but some upgrades will fix that.

Doom Blades– 4/5 Awesome, plus awesome, this weapon fires saw blades that bounce off enemies. When there is only one enemy it will continue going for that target until it is out of ricochets. The only drawback is it’s weak to start and has a low magazine. But it will upgrade quickly.

Fusion Grenade– 2/5 Is it just me or are the grenades in every Ratchet horrible? They do more damage than the auto weapons but not a significant amount. Your best bet is upgrade the radius and focus on killing hordes not large enemies. Also you can only carry 8, I would save these for a different farming method.

Glove of Doom– 2/5 same effectiveness as the Bouncer but is limited by it’s pathetic ammo count of four. Chuck ’em if you got em, you might be able to get one tank.

Groovitron– 4/5 I know 4? I’m crazy right? The tanks actually dance to this weapon’s funky groove and give you plenty of time to do serious damage. Although they actually do no damage by themselves. If you are having trouble destroying the tanks then toss one of these outta sight and dynamite little balls!

Mr. Zurkon– 2/5 Awful without any upgrades, he barely shoots and does barely any damage and you can only carry 6. If you are willing to sacrifice Raritanium you can level this on the enemies after the first tank. Trust me though, there won’t be anything quick about it. If you’re patience, have awesome dodge skills, and some upgrades you can skate by using these to kill one tank.

Sheepinator- 1/5 It’s baaaad, it’s the worst. Save it just for the Raritanium farming part, don’t try to use it on tanks it won’t work. But if you are ready and woolling than you can use the Rare farming method to also level it. Sheep puns.

Pixelizer- 4/5 High damage shotgun, with a moderate fire rate, low magazine at first. But chances are you bought this gun as soon as it was available. So you probably have a few upgrades on it already. Perfectly acceptable weapon if you are ok with getting close to the tanks.

Plasma Striker- 2/5 Low fire rate, 10 magazine, and the scope (aimed, L2) leaves you really vulnerable. It’s alright if you strafe, place shots carefully, and hipfire or “quickscope”. The magazine still prevents this from being efficient.

Pyrocitor- 2/5 Possible but painful, the weapon is weak without a few upgrades. If you saw my video accompanying this post then you can see that you can kill the second tank with this weapon. But keep in mind, that was a maxed out Pyrocitor with all of it’s upgrades. Without those upgrades you will run out of ammo or you will need a few funky fresh disco balls as a distraction.

Predator Launcher– 3/5 It’s really mediocre, alright ammo count, alright damage, but a slow lock on time. It’s easy to use though, you might run out of ammo while fighting, and rockets can miss. Just make sure you strafe and side flip a lot.

Proton Drum- 2/5 It’s like the bouncer but worse, less ammo and instead of homing child grenades you get a stationary ball that spews out a aoe. It’s weak, but can kill one shot enemies like robomutts. If you want to level it pair it with a Disco Ball, but you will run out of ammo for both before you kill even one tank.

Warmonger- 3/5 High Damage, low ammo count, but really simple to use. You might not be able to kill a tank with one magazine. But it’s more accurate and easier to use than thee Predator Launcher.

Update: Sheepinator does work on tanks, it’s just slow.
